In December 2005, he was sentenced to 90 days in the Davis County Jail and 36 months probation on the charge. Hines was placed on the Sex Offender Registry and a five-year prison sentence was suspended.
He served 79 days of his sentence. But in July, he went back to jail to serve 127 of a 180-day sentence for parole violations, which included failure to participate in sex offender therapy, consuming alcohol and failing to pay court fees, according to court documents.
NSL's Pope heads to Channel 5 post
NORTH SALT LAKE --Dan Pope, KTVX Channel 4 meteorologist, is moving to KSL Channel 5 beginning Jan. 4. Pope, a North Salt Lake resident, has been the chief meteorologist for Channel 4 for 14 years. At KSL, Pope will be the weekend weather anchor and will also work on forecasts for the station's 24-hour cable station and its website. Dina Freedman, who anchored the weekend weather, will continue to fill in as a weather person and serve as a reporter.
Pope graduated from the University of Utah and was the first Utah to be certified by he American Meteorological Society. He began working at KTVX
He is a resident of North Salt Lake.
