BDAC is offering 12 new classes that begin today and will last through Feb. 28.
The offerings include a number of children's classes as well as instruction in landscape oil, watercolor, pastel landscape, poetry, prose, figure study, collage, drawing, and ancestor photo reverse transfer.
On of the more promising events is planned for Jan. 16 and Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. at the center.
BDAC will present "Family Encounters of the Art Kind" on those days. The program has been designed to provide families with an opportunity to get out and spend time together.
In the galleries there will be an activity with docents available to show families around the gallery and give information about the current exhibit.
Downstairs there will be a hands-on art activity that patrons can take home with them.
BDAC will also allow patrons to learn from professionals during "Utah Illustrators Invitational," an exhibition that hopes to highlight the quality work of contemporary illustrators in the state.
Those interested in the exhibit are invited to meet the artists at the opening reception on Friday, Jan. 13, 7-9 pm.
In addition to meeting the illustrators, patrons may also enjoy hors d'oeuvres, music and the art.
Those who would like to gather more information about the upcoming events at BDAC are invited to visit www.bdac.org, call 292-0637 or e-mail lisa_bdac@networld.com.
