BOUNTIFUL -- The Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of the Intermountain area recently awarded Shu-Yu Chen of Bountiful High School a scholarship. Since the Intermountain West RMHC Scholarship Program was introduced in the fall of 2003, 50 college students have received needed financial assistance to continue their educations and advance their future options. RMHC Scholarships are designed to provide financial assistance to eligible graduating high school seniors from targeted, disadvantaged communities.
In addition, RMHC has added scholarships for continuing RMHC scholars this year. "These scholarships enable students to fulfill their dream of going to college and advancing their future career options," said Frances Gillmor, executive director of RMHC of the Intermountain area.
The majority of funding for the scholarships is received from McDonald's annual World Children's Day activities in November.
