LAYTON -- "An Old Gloryous Celebration" will be kicked off this weekend by Layton Hills Mall and other shopping centers. The two-and-a-half week campaign is aimed at raising patriotism, supporting troops and veterans and honoring the American flag.

This Friday and Saturday, noon-6 p.m., volunteers from Layton VFW Post 8307 will be in Center Court to encourage shoppers to fly the flag on Flag Day, June 14. Mall visitors responding will receive a complimentary stick flag to display their support. In addition, volunteers will be accepting old flags for retirement and accepting donations for veterans hospitals. In addition, a banner will be available for shoppers to write messages of support to troops serving in Iraq. For more information, call the mall at 546-3471.
