DAVIS COUNTY -- A $5,000 grant from the Qwest Foundation has enabled the Davis Educa-tion Foundation to purchase 1,100 copies of C.S. Lewis' The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. These books have been distributed to students as part of the "Davis Reads" program designed to get kids hooked on reading. Envirocare also contributed $2,000 toward the purchase of the books. Davis Reads is a community-wide effort to encourage all ages to read more. Davis Reads receives support from the Davis School District Davis Count Commissioners, Davis Library, Davis Chamber of Commerce, the Davis Education Association, and many community volunteers.
