FARMINGTON -- A request to establish a temporary sales office in a model home was granted Richmond American Homes June 23 by members of the Farmington City Planning Commission. The model home is located at 1518 W. Longhorn Drive. In giving their OK to the request, commission members also awarded conditional use and site plan approval. Meanwhile city residents seeking to "beat the heat" this summer can take comfort in the fact a "shaved ice" stand will once more be open in the parking lot of the Bayview Animal Hospital, 677 W. Shepard Lane.

A temporary use permit was granted Clayne White and family to open the stand. But, instead of requiring the applicants to return for approval again next year, the permit will remain valid for five years.
