Sean Carey of Bountiful (first photo) and Tyler Stahle of Woods Cross (second photo) were two members of the Utah Pump-N-Run Basketball team that finished undefeated in the first annual Dynasty Shootout at Salt Lake Lutheran High School. UPNR won the championship by winning four straight games in the eight-team tourney. The Dynasty Shootout was comprised of several of the top AAU teams from Utah and California. The Pump-N-Run 17U team had opening night wins on Friday over the Pump-N-Run (white) team and the South City Ballerz from California. On Saturday, they defeated the Utah Swoosh handily before dispatching the South City Ballerz in a rematch to take home the championship trophy. The Utah Pump-N-Run 17U team is an AAU all-star team with top players from local high schools in Utah. Utah Pump-N-Run is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping young men develop and showcase their basketball skills against national AAU competition to successfully compete for grant-in-aid scholarships to further their education. Pump-N-Run played in the Adidas-sponsored Double Pump Tournament in Denver, Colo., this weekend. Results will be published in an upcoming issue of the Clipper.
