PEOPLE/PLACES - RMT offers auditions for "Broadway"

CENTERVILLE -- Rodgers Memorial Theatre will be holding auditions for "Broadway After Dark" on Saturday, Aug. 6, from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. at 292 East Pages Lane in Centerville. Jim Christian will be directing and choreographing the show. Peter Steenblik will be the show's music director. The show opens Oct. 14 and plays until Nov. 12. The show will consist of songs from various Broadway shows in a concert-style format. All those auditioning should come prepared to sing one Broadway ballad and one show-stopper number consisting of 32 bars; each are of the participant's choice.

An accompanist will be provided. Please do not bring pre-recorded music or plan to audition a cappella.

You may be asked to perform a combination of dance steps. Please bring any conflicts from August - November and a headshot.

The theatre is looking for 4-6 men and women for each cast between the ages of 17 to late 60s.

Farmers' market begins in Syracuse

SYRACUSE -- The Syracuse Farmers' market opened for business July 30 and will stay open until Saturday, Sept. 24.

The market sports farm-fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as some arts and crafts. The museums are also open. Admission is free.

The market is located at 1891 W. 1700 S.



Creekside to hold fund-raiser carnival

BOUNTIFUL -- Creekside Elementary, 274 west Mutton Hollow Road, will hold a carnival on Sept. 8, 2005. The carnival will run from 5-8 p.m.Tickets are four for $1.
