One thing is abundantly clear in the Casey Anthony case. . . Caylee Anthony is dead. This cute, innocent, nearly 3-year-old girl didn’t die of a disease or in an accident. Somebody killed her.

Florida authorities trying to convict Casey failed to provide evidence leading to conviction. Maybe circumstances beyond their control created a situation where nobody could possibly build a credible body of evidence pointing to the killer (killers) responsible for this tragic death. But still they failed.

State prosecutors and Casey’s immoral lifestyle portrayed her as a promiscuous, self-centered, uncaring, woman who “could” have become a cold-blooded killer. She has no idea which of her “one night studs” might be Caylee’s father and didn’t seem to care as long as she could continue her partying ways. The motive, prosecutors alleged, was to continue her lustful lifestyle unburdened by Caylee. Good motive in this case; but conviction cannot be made on motive alone.

The presumption of innocence must prevail. Prosecutors failed to establish how, when or by what means little Caylee was killed. Without reasonable establishment of those points, justice indeed did prevail in this case.

In a strange, but predictable twist liberal talk show hostesses and hosts immediately began crying buckets of crocodile tears saying that Caylee didn’t get a fair chance at life. Regardless of legal proof, they want Casey punished for killing her. She’ll be subjected to all sorts of spoken and printed outrage that she killed her child and got off without paying for the evil action taken in 2008.

She could have easily avoided all the negative commentary. If Casey had simply killed her child in early 2005, before Caylee saw the light of day or received a name; the hypocritical liberal pundits would have praised her for boldly destroying her child. There’s a good chance that the state would gladly have assisted her by paying for the shameful “procedure”.

Had Casey taken that murderous route in 2005 the means of Caylee’s death would be clearly identifiable. The date of her death would be easily proven. The instruments of that death, and the hands that wielded them, would be firmly established. But, no one would have been prosecuted for the killing; because, some choose to call abortion “justifiable homicide”.

I’m really sorry Caylee got killed. I’m also sorry that 3,300 other children were killed today in America . . . most of them for the exact same selfish motive that Casey was accused of.
