WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Four Utah students, including two from Davis County, met with Utah Senator Orrin Hatch when they were in Washington, D.C. as part of the Boys/Girls Nation youth leadership conference in July. The local students are David Christensen (far left) and Mari Lindstrom (second from right).



Hill Field Elem. to hold picnic

LAYTON -- Look out for the ants? Well, this school's kindergarten students might have to. At 6 p.m., Hill Field Elementary is holding its Kindergarten Picnic at Centennial Park. This is a picnic for new Kindergarten students and their families. Food is being provided by the PTA along with games and activities for the families to participate in.

Students will meet their teacher and other students in their class. For more information, contact Jacklyn Probert or Principal Paul Bryner at 402-2350.

BOUNTIFUL -- Students, teachers and parents who are excited about the school year starting back up again can get even more excited thanks to South Davis Junior High School's

"Back to School" night.

The evening, which will serve as a welcome to those returning to the school, and those who are new to the school, will be held Wednesday, Aug. 16 at 6:30 p.m.

School officials invite all those who are interested to attend in order to get ready for the start of the 2006-07 school year.
