Nathan Sloop’s preliminary hearing will begin Oct. 31, while Stephanie Sloop’s is set to begin Nov. 15. The couple is charged with killing Stephanie’s 4-year-old son Ethan Stacy in May, 2010.
Nathan’s preliminary hearing will also address the admissibility of materials taken from his jail cell as evidence. That issue was to have been addressed at Wednesday’s hearing.
Attorneys for both sides met with 2nd District Judge Glen Dawson before he continued the evidentiary hearing, combining it with the fall preliminary hearing.
Nathan, 32, and Stephanie, 28, are each charged with aggravated murder, second-degree felony child abuse, second-degree felony obstruction of justice and third-degree felony abuse or desecration of a body in Ethan Stacy’s death.
