LAYTON -- Sally Ogilvie, a first-grade teacher at Syracuse Elementary School, was recently announced as one of the recipients of the 2005 "Excellence in Teaching" awards. Ogilvie was recognized thanks to her efforts in building The Garden. The Garden is an outdoor classroom at the school where students can learn about biology, ecology, agriculture and natural resources. Ogilvie also began the Garden Club. For six weeks during the summer, students can learn about birds, insects and planting. More than 100 students have participated in the Garden Club.
