CENTERVILLE -- The Easter bunny and Bullwinkle both made appearances in a neighborhood here Sunday. The bull moose, estimated at more than 1,000 pounds, was spotted near 400 East and 700 South in the early afternoon. It strolled through several blocks in that residential area, before being tracked down by Jocelyn O'niones of the Davis County Animal Control. She and Centerville Police officers trapped the moose in the backyard of a duplex, where Utah Division of Wildlife Resources officers were able to tranquilize the animal, estimated to be 3 to 4 years old.
However, before the tranquilizer took effect, Bullwinkle ran about a half-mile through yards, trampling fences along the way.
Children in the area were allowed to pet and take pictures of the sleeping moose before it was taken back to the mountains.
