DAVIS COUNTY -- The Bountiful Braves fell to Olympus on Friday 62-42. The Braves were outscored 19-7 in the first quarter, and could never recover. Ben Aird had 17 points for Bountiful in the loss. Fremont 49, Davis 32: Davis scored only two points in the first quarter, and couldn't dig out of that hole.

Viewmont 71, Weber 60: Viewmont outscored Weber 18-8 in the second quarter and 20-11 in the third for the win.

Chris Romney and Sol Jensen each scored 17 points for the Vikings.

Woods Cross 53, West 42: Woods Cross outscored West 16-2 in the first quarter and held off a fourth quarter rally by West to secure the win. Bryson Riddle scored 21 points for the Wildcats.

Clearfield 56, Layton 52: The Clearfield Falcons opened up region competition last Friday with a 56-52 win over the Layton Lancers. Devin Reid led the Falcons with a game-high 17 points. Mitch Scholer and Blake Sims chipped in 13 and 12 points respectively, in the Falcons' win.

Kyle Bubak led the Lancers with 16 points. Layton made just 11 of 17 free throws, while the Falcons hit 25 of 33 from the charity stripe. The Lancers have dropped five of their last six games.

Girls basketball

Bountiful 48, Olympus 42: Bountiful's 16-12 run in the third quarter secured the victory. Erin Wall had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Braves.

Layton 56, Clearfield 29: The Layton Lancers cruised to a 56-29 win over the Clearfield Falcons last Friday. Layton held the Falcons to single-digit scoring in each of the first three quarters, and led 45-19 heading into the fourth quarter. Katie King tossed in a game-high 18 points for the Lancers and teammate Ashley McFarland added 11 points in the win.

Haley Hall and Somre Anderson led the Falcons with 10 points apiece. Clearfield has dropped three of its last four games.
