BOUNTIFUL -- Recognized as one of Utah's top 10 companies for work/life balance, Mountain America Credit Union recently accepted an award from the Department of Workforce Service, Office of Child Care and Juxtapose Work/Life Consultants.
"Mountain America's greatest strength as an organization lies in our outstanding employees, said President/CEO Gordon Dames. "We recognize that many of our employees want to have a successful and fulfilling career while still having quality time outside their work.
"Therefore, we continue to cultivate a culture of empowerment," he added, "so employees can manage their time to fit their unique needs."
One of Mountain America's 2003 innovations was the "paid time off" (PTO) bank.
"Our new PTO plan goes a step farther in empowering employees," said Dames. "By eliminating two 'banks' and compiling all leave into one pool, employees can choose how to spend their time."
Mountain America has three branches in Davis County -- Woods Cross, 1849 S. 500 West; Layton, 955 W. Antelope Drive; and Centerville, 298 North Marketplace Drive.
