Feb. 20, 1923 - Sept. 19, 2007

Mary Hogge Blackhurst passed away September 19, 2007 while surrounded by her loving family. Her family will miss her kind and loving nature, generosity and her strong will for life. Born February 20, 1923, in Morgan, Utah to Charles William Hogge and Mary Ellen Vincent Hogge. Mary grew up in Salt Lake City in a loving family of four brothers and two sisters. After graduating from South High School she married her sweetheart William (Bill) N. Blackhurst on December 15, 1943

Mom worked for United Airlines and Murdock Travel. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, Europe and Mexico. We will treasure our memories of vacations spent with Mom and Dad especially those in Hawaii and California.

The joy of Mom's life was her grandchildren Andrea and David. She loved to talk to them and be a part of their lives, and they too loved having Grandma as a part of theirs. During the past five years Mom was a faithful caregiver to her "Little Sister" Helen Schoenfeld.

Mary is loved and missed by those she leaves behind, including son, Bill and daughter-in-law Charlotte; grandchildren David (Holly) Blackhurst and Andrea (Shane) Woodbury, many special nieces and nephews including Lynn (Lynda) Schoenfeld, Ilene Singley, Barbara (Wally) Petersen, Robert (Julie) Hogge, Terry (Sue) Hogge and Ellen (Wally) Vlasic, and some very kind and special neighbors and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill, brothers, Nephi, Vince and Robert and sisters, Myrtle and Helen.

A funeral celebration of Mary's life was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday September 22, 2007 at Russon Brothers Mortuary at 295 North Main Bountiful, Utah where family and friends may called prior to the service to visit with Mary's family. Interment - Bountiful City Cemetery. Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com.
