KAYSVILLE -- The Kaysville City Council showed its gratitude to the businesses that support the Child Appropriate Standards Resolution Tuesday night. The resolution is aimed at getting retail Kaysville businesses to remove or cover magazines and other printed material that can be inappropriate for children. "It's what all communities need," said Lynn Galbraith, chairman of Citizens for Family.Elaine Wilkinson, who has been active in promoting the resolution, honored four company representatives who went out of their way to protect Kaysville children at the Kaysville City Council meeting Tuesday night. They included Sherry Gilbert, a manager of 7-11 stores who would place child inappropriate material in less visible spots.
She also allowed covers to be placed on magazines that were not deemed appropriate.
Albertson's manager Kent Haslam of the Kaysville store was recognized for his immediate support of the resolution. He allowed covers to be placed on any magazine recommended by Wilkinson.
