DAVIS COUNTY -- The Woods Cross boys basketball team defeated West Friday night 40-35 in a very low-scoring, defensive battle.

Bryson Riddle led the Wildcats with 15 points and nine rebounds. Clearfield 72, Northridge 64: The Clearfield Falcons pulled out a 72-64 double-overtime win over the Northridge Knights last Friday. Devin Reid paced the Falcons with a team-high 19 points, including three three-pointers, in the win. Mitch Scholer added 15 points and Blake Sims added 13 points for the Falcons (5-3, 12-5).

Andrew Jordan led the Knights (0-7, 4-10) with a game-high 20 points.

Chris Jackson chipped in with 12 points and teammate Colby Bentley added 11 points. The Knights struggled from the free- throw line, hitting just eight-of-16 shots from the line.

Girls basketball

Viewmont 50, Bonneville 34: Viewmont outscored Bonne-ville 18-4 in the first quarter and 14-4 in the fourth for the easy victory.

Cheltsey McCloy scored 17 points in the win.

Bountiful 44, Olympus 41: Bountiful's 13-9 third-quarter run gave them enough of a cushion to hold on for the win.

Rebecca Schmidt scored 11 points and Holly McOmie added 10.

Layton 68, Davis 52: The Layton Lancers remained un-beaten on the season after a 68-52 win over the Davis Darts last Friday. The Lancers led 37-31 at halftime, but outscored the Darts 15-7 in the third quarter to seal the win.

Katie King tossed in a game-high 22 points for the Lancers (9-0,17-0). Kelsey Kennedy poured in 13 points and Danielle Mc-Donald added 10 points in the win. Layton hit 19-of-26 free throws on the night, while the Darts made 10-of-15 shots from the line.

Clearfield 72, Northridge 55: The Clearfield Falcons rebounded from Tuesday's loss with a 72-55 win over the Northridge Knights on Friday night. The Falcons jumped out to a 21-11 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.

Haley Hall was almost un-stoppable on the night, as she lit up the Knights with 33 points, including five three-pointers. Amy Arbon tossed in 16 points in the Falcons' (6-3, 12-6) win.

Kristi Rhees led Northridge (1-7, 2-14) with 12 points, while teammates Mandi Durant and Katie Casteel each chipped in nine points apiece.
