BOUNTIFUL -- Bountiful Davis Arts Center recently announced its new exhibit "Photos and Phrases--Poetry reflecting individual perspective, inspired by photography." The exhibit features the works of two local arts organizations: The Utah Photo Club and the Bountiful chapter of the Utah State Poetry Society (Rhyme and Reason). The photographers recently invited the poets to write poetry about some of their photographs, which resulted in this collaborative, first-of-its-kind exhibit. More than 20 photographs are being displayed with accompanying poetry and are offered for sale by the artists. For more information about Bountiful Davis Arts Center, the local arts organizations it hosts, or this exhibit, please call 292-0367 or visit www.bdac.org.
"Participation in the 'Photos and Phrases' project has proven to be surprisingly rewarding. It nudged me out of a year-long writer's block," Jane Randall of Rhyme and Reason said.
All three photographs above are by Marilyn Edmiston. The exhibit begins on June 21 and runs through the end of August. Photos are for sale with proceeds going to Bountiful/Davis Art Center. They are $30 each.
