Mayor Joe Johnson waves his giant shears in symbolic victory Saturday during ribbon-cutting ceremonies for the South Davis Rec Center's grand opening. Hundreds turned out to help celebrate, and festivities featured radio station 101.9 broadcasting live, clowns, games, prizes and more. The fun concluded with a grand fireworks finale lighting the city sky. The center includes pools, a gymnasium, an ice rink, weight room and much more.
