LAYTON -- The Fran Brown Beauty College wants to help victims of domestic violence.

The school is holding a fashion show fund-raiser on Sept. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. at 521 West 600 North. Admission fees and donations will be given to Cut It Out and the Family Connec-tion Center, a family support center in Davis County that serves abused and neglected children and their families. Contact Christina Wind-horst at 801-546-2221 for more information about this fund-raiser. Cameo College of Essential Beauty in Salt Lake City raised $2,000 for domestic violence victims during its fund-raiser last week.

"This is a great step in helping victims and we want this to be the first of many Cut It Out Day fund-raisers so victims know help is available and someone cares," said Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff.

Through Cut It Out, hairdressers and others are trained to recognize domestic abuse, respond appropriately with empathy and refer their client to the appropriate resources.
