LAYTON -- John (Jack) Daniel Morrill, 82, passed away Aug. 29, 2007, at LDS Hospital.
He was born Aug.12, 1925, in Panguitch, Utah, the son of Mel-vin J. and Cornelia Day Morrill.
Jack served in the U.S. Navy for 23 years, during World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War as a flight engineer, traveling extensively. He loved teaching electronics and algebra for 20 years at Viewmont High School.
He married Diana Turner on April 26, 1957, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Jack was an active member of the Layton Country Creek Ward.
He was an avid fisherman and loved to take anyone fishing with him. He also enjoyed painting.
Surviving are his loving wife Diana of 50 years, sons John, Provo; Dan (Agatha), West Yellowstone, Mont.; Matt (Sheila), Missoula, Mont.; daughters Karen, Provo; Nani (Ron) Pierson, Bountiful; Alicia (Dwain) Klein, Kaysville; Kristy, Bountiful; 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, brother Richard Morrill, two sisters Lois Steab and Velda Harding.
Preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law Leslie and Diana Turner, brothers Garn, Grant, Kenneth and sister Wanna.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main. Interment, Farmington City Cemetery where military honors were accorded.
