Mary Alice Wood Cannon, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully March 18, 2006, in Bountiful, Utah. Mary was born in 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Wilford C. and Lillian W. Wood. She attended Davis High School and the University of Utah and served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Eastern States .

Mary married Ralph S. Cannon in 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of four children and 19 grandchildren.

A devoted member of the LDS church she never stopped being a missionary and she served happily in whatever assignment she was given. She spent many years teaching in both Primary and Relief Society. She served in the Cub Scouts and with her husband as regional dance directors. Mary especially enjoyed music and spent many years as the chorister and as choir director. Mary served more than one school as PTA president. She loved her husband and children and adored her grandchildren. She loved her parents and sister. She loved her extended family. She loved the hymns of the church and the promises of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Mary is survived by her husband Ralph; children, Tina (Terry) Vowles, Wilford (Melanie), Woody (Christine), George (Julie), and stepson Michael (Debby). Preceded in death by her parents, sister, Leilah Glade, grandchildren Timothy Vowles and Megan Cannon.

The family extends thanks and appreciation to the staff of Bountiful House and Orchard Cove care centers for their kind help and support.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2006, in the Orchard 1st Ward Chapel 3707 S. 800 W. Bountiful. Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery. Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com.
