UAF invites local artists to exhibit

SALT LAKE CITY -- The Utah Arts Festival is accepting applications from visual, performing and culinary artists who would like to be considered for participation in the 2004 Festival at Library Square.
The 2004 UAF will begin Thursday, June 24 and run through Sunday, June 27. The four-day event is celebrating it's second year at Library Square with a wide variety of musical, visual, literacy, performing and culinary arts, as well as a renowned fine arts exhibit. Each year, more than 1,000 performing visual, performing and culinary artists from across the state are selected to participate in the festival.
Visual Arts showcase a wide spectrum of art in the Artists Marketplace. Submissions are being accepted from all artists and crafts people including: sculpture, drawing, painting, jewelry, photography, wearable art, woodwork, mixed media and more. Entries will be reviewed by artists and art professional and judged upon the quality of work portrayed in the slides submitted. Applications for the Artists Marketplace must be received by Fri., Feb. 6, 5 p.m.
Performing arts program considers artists in the following genres: music, dance and literary arts. Submissions will be judged on originality, creativity, professionalism and how well each submission suits the Festival's environment. Performing artist applications must be received b Fri., Feb. 13, 5 p.m.
Culinary Art is open to any licensed food vendor selling a diverse selection of culinary items. Culinary artist's applications will be judged on the following criteria: food quality, presentation, diversity and booth design. Culinary applications must be received by Mon., March 1, 5 p.m.
