HIGH NOTES- Science fairs abound in schools

Several Davis District elementary schools will be featuring science fairs this week:

-Thursday, Jan. 27: West Point Elementary, 3788 W. 300 North, West Point. "Magical Mysteries of Science Night" is for the whole family. Explore science and participate in "cool" experiments from 6-8 p.m.

-Thursday, Jan. 27: Kaysville Elementary, 50 N. 100 East, Kaysville. Judging will be held during the day, parents are invited that evening from 6:30--7:30 p.m.

-Friday, Jan. 28: Clinton Elementary, 1101 W. 1800 North, Clinton. Twenty judges from Hill Air Force Base will help judge this exciting fair. The fun begins at 9 a.m.



Book Blizzard Bash coming Jan. 28

KAYSVILLE -- The public is invited to Kaysville Elementary School Friday, Jan. 28, for its winter carnival, Book Blizzard Bash." Each classroom takes a book theme and puts together a "Book Basket" full of prizes and goodies. The baskets are auctioned off during the carnival which features dinner and other entertainment for families. For more information call 402-3400.



Students aid tsunami victims

CENTERVILLE -- Students at Stewart Elementary School, 1155 N. Main, Centerville, held a bake sale Jan. 15 and raised $1,220 to send to the Red Cross for tsunami victims. The event was organized by the student council under the direction of Shaleen Winslow and Jamie Burnett.

Students will be continuing their fund raising efforts selling rubber bracelets with the slogan: "Tsunami Tstudent Tsupport." The school is teaming with other schools for this fund raiser selling 5,000 bracelets. To get involved in the project or to purchase bracelets call 402-1850.



'Peter Pan' flying into Woods Cross

WOODS CROSS -- Woods Cross High School will stage its musical production, "Peter Pan," Jan. 28, 29, 31 and Feb. 3,4,5,7 at 7 p.m. This is the classic tale of the boy who wouldn't grow up, who befriends three English children and flies them off to Neverland.

Beautiful sets, a stellar cast and special effects will abound including acrobatic flying.

Show dates are Jan. 28, 29, 31 and Feb. 3,4,5,7 at 7 p.m. with matinees Jan. 28 and Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person.
