The park is at 2050 S. 575 E. and includes about five acres with an arboretum, basketball court, baseball diamond and playground. It also features a walking path, picnic pavilion and open space.
The arboretum is the city's first, a memorial to the late John D. Coffey, a longtime Clearfield resident. His family established a fund to purchase trees for placement in the city.
Clearfield City Forester Diann Olson wanted a place within the city where residents could look at trees appropriate to the area. A variety of trees have been planted in Coffey's memory.
Resident volunteers donated many hours to make the park possible. They built a fence and planted trees, while city staff installed lights by the parking lot. An Eagle Scout painted the parking lot striping.
