Last year the Davis County Clipper was kind enough to send out a plea for volunteers to help take a shipment of Utah's used textbooks to Zambia. I was overwhelmed (in a good way) with the response I received from your readers.
In Zambia, the books were received so graciously and touched so many lives that we are doing it again this year. This time we will be taking two trips: one at the beginning of April to take used computers to Zambian high schools, and the other as soon as the paperwork has gone through for the shipment of textbooks.
We are looking for eight volunteers per trip. They must be willing to sleep in a sleeping bag in the bush, pay their own way and help with fuel costs once we arrive in Kasama.
We will arrive at the airport in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania and ride the train to Kasama, Zambia. Once there, we will take several trips out into the countryside (all dirt roads) and deliver the books to tiny village schools.
