DAVIS COUNTY -- Zions Bank announced Monday that it will expand its multicultural outreach and marketing branches across Utah and Idaho.
"Since Zions Bank began aggressive marketing and educational outreach targeting multicultural and Hispanic consumers, the positive feedback has been phenomenal," said Joe Reyna, Zions Bank's retail region president over the multicultural initiative. "We are building our client base to reflect the diversity of the local consumer population."
The initiative will expand to a total of 27 branches over the course of 2008 and is hiring additional bilingual employees for various branch jobs in order to better serve the Hispanic community.
Based on an in-house measuring tool that helps determine growth in the market, the Hispanic market has grown more than 742 percent in 2007 when compared to 2006.
"Expanding our multicultural presence within branches simply makes sense for our business," said LeeAnne Linderman, Zions Bank's executive vice president of retail banking. "To date, our outreach and education strategies for this market have resulted in rapid growth.
"We anticipate even more market penetration as we involve more branch offices in this effort."

Cutler's reopens in new location
LAYTON -- Cutler's eatery has relocated and is holding a grand opening scheduled for sometime this month.
"We're open now, but we're still getting some little things together before we do a grand opening," said Matt Cutler, owner of the store. "I'm very excited about our new location."
The new location is on Hillfield Road next to the Hillfield plaza, and offers a different kind of feel for the food they serve there.
The eatery is very similar to Tasty's in Layton, but with a healthy alternative.
"We do serve sweets, but not in huge proportions," said Cutler. "We also offer sandwiches in every other bread but white, and soups that are a little healthier than other soup and sandwich places.
"My hope is that by having this new location, we'll see an increase in business," he said. "We're a little more visible in this area so I'm sure we'll be more successful than at our previous location."
