KAYSVILLE -- The Davis Darts continued its trek toward a season of double Region 1 championships. Both the boys and girls remain in the drivers seat for the championships after double wins Tuesday night over Layton.

The boys raced out to a 26-15 lead and never looked back pounding out a 91-58 victory over the Lancers, while the Lady Darts pulled off a 54-44 win over the Lancers in a game that wasn't really that close.

For the boys, it was a complete game with scoring by Nick Gruninger (21 points), Jackson Stevenett (20 points), Chase Flint (14 points) and Mitch Florence ( 10 points) that put Davis to close to the century mark.

The win kept Davis at a perfect 14-0 and 8-0 in Region 1 play. The Darts now hold a first two game lead over Viewmont for the Region 1 title.

The Lady Darts did exactly what it needed to do since dropping a heartbreaking game to Fremont earlier this season. The Darts have kept racing to its re-match with Silverwolves for at least a share of the Region 1 first place.

The 12 -4 (9-1 in Region 1) Lady Darts will travel to Fremont for the big game Friday night. Fremont stands 13 -3 and 11-0 in Region 1 play.

In reality, Fremont holds a one game and one point lead over the Lady Darts. A win would give Davis boys and girls at least a share of both titles.
