SALT LAKE CITY (AP)--South Davis County officials are asking for the state's help to build a local history museum in Bountiful. County leaders are requesting $300,000 from a legislative committee to help construct the $1.5 million facility.

The museum will showcase historical documents and artifacts relevant to the area, including a tribute to the American Indians who lived in the area before the pioneers.

The Bountiful City Council recently ap-proved a contribution of $750,000 toward the museum, which will be built at the city complex. Beyond that, the building committee has raised $100,000 in cash and pledges.
