Editor:

We now live in and love Bountiful, but I miss the curbside recycling program in Salt Lake -- it trained me to think about what I threw out, and I loved having the bin right outside. Our recycle container was always fuller than the landfill can and it just made sense to have it as part of the city's waste management services. The cost of citywide curbside recycling programs, in cities comparable to Bountiful, is between $3 and $4 a month -- this is a price I'd gladly pay to save the driving around and storage space, not to mention that more people would be exposed to the idea of recycling as a disposal option. I sincerely hope the people of Bountiful will give it a chance after the city gets official bids back.
