BOUNTIFUL -- C. Kelly Newman, 67, passed away October 15, 2007, at his home in Bountiful, Utah.
He was born April 21, 1940, in Bountiful, Utah, the son of Arthur and Alice Riley Newman. He married Linda G. Morgan, Oct. 14, 1960, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Kelly was a life-long resident of Bountiful. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Utah. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served for over 40 dedicated years in the Boy Scout program, receiving the Silver Beaver Award.
He enjoyed spending time with his family at their cabin in the Uintahs where he was a member of the Manor Lands Water Board. He was a Bar J Wrangler groupie, a crossword puzzle junkie and collector of "perfectly good" things.
Kelly is survived by Linda, his wife of 47 years; his children Derek (Bonnie), Mitchell, Patrick (Libby), and Julie; five grandchildren, Riley, Chase Kelly, Davis, Luke and Zoe. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law Ste-phanie Newman.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery. At Kelly's request send flowers to your sweetheart, rather than to his services.
