NORTH SALT LAKE -- The South Davis Metro Fire Agency will hold a dedication and formal opening of the new Station 85, 836 W. 1100 North, on Saturday at 10 a.m.

An open house will follow.

The new fire station serves the area of North Salt Lake and Woods Cross with medical and fire response. Of the five stations within the agency, station 85 is the only one west of the railroad tracks.

"The opening of this station represents the future of South Davis Metro Fire," said Fire Chief Jim Rampton. "With the industrial areas, new residential subdivisions, the airport and the Legacy Highway, this location is perfect for a quick response. The residents of this area should be proud of the new fire station and level of service they can come to expect."

Station 85 previously was located at 400 North and 500 West in West Bountiful. It was demolished to make room for the new Lowe's Home Im-provement store.
