BOUNTIFUL -- BDAC recently named Emma J. Dugal as Executive Director, succeeding Arley Curtz. "Anyone who knows me is aware that I am passionate about the arts and believe that it is the arts that define a community and give it character," Dugal said as she accepted the appointment. "I am delighted and grateful to have the opportunity to be the Director of BDAC."

Dugal has been with BDAC since 1998, serving as the Programs Coordinator and Bountiful Summerfest International Coordinator.

Dugal, a resident of Bountiful, was honored with the 2004 Mayor's Award in the Humanities and in 2006 received a Utah Humanities Council Award for developing the "Conversations in Culture" program.

Dugal recently completed training through the Utah Arts Council's "Change Leadership Institute" which focused on skills, attitudes and tools for leading personal, organizational and community change.

" I look forward to continuing my work in the arts in this community," Dugal said. "I am confident that great things can happen when groups and individuals work together toward a common goal."
