FARMINGTON - The advanced students of the Farmington Junior High School Music Department will perform their fourth annual holiday fund-raising concert on Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. at Layton High School. All proceeds from this event go to purchasing music equipment for the school. Tickets are $5 per person. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance by contacting a student.



High schools to start late Friday, Nov. 18

DAVIS COUNTY - Davis School District has scheduled late start dates for the first and third Fridays of the 2005-06 school year to allow for staff collaboration.

Following is a list of the dates: Nov. 18, 2005, Dec. 2, 2005, Dec. 16, 2005, Jan. 6, 2006, Jan. 20, 2006, Feb. 3, 2006, Feb. 17, 2006, March 3, 2006, March 17, 2006, April 7, 2006, April 21, 2006, May 5, 2006, May 19, 2006.



Holbrook Elementary invites shoppers

BOUNTIFUL - Students and teachers from Holbrook Elementary are inviting anxious shoppers to begin the Christmas shopping season at the school.

The school will hold a holiday extravaganza on Friday, Nov. 18, from 5-9 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 19, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the school at 1018 East 250 North.

Those who come may shop for wrapping paper, jewelry, candles, home accessories, clothing, fitness club memberships, cooking utensils, wood crafts, baked goods, candles, baby blessing gowns, Christmas cards, scrapbooking supplies, cosmetics, toys, blankets, vinyl lettering, purses, bags, gift baskets, books and more.



Knowlton to hold annual Turkey Trot

FARMINGTON - The Knowlton Elementary Student Council will hold the 11th Annual Turkey Trot on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 9 a.m.. at the school at 801 West Shepard Lane in Farmington. A can of food (or more if you like) will be the entry to participate in the event. We'll walk around the school for a little morning exercise; enter your name to win prizes. Winners need not be present.

Oak Hills receives financial gift

BOUNTIFUL

- Oak Hills Elementary School teacher Janet Glass received a check for $1,930 last month from 100% For Kids Foundation.

The check was delivered by 100% For Kids Director Paula Julander and Mark Hoyal from Horizon Credit Union.

Oak Hills Principal Cameron Forbush also participated in the presentation.
