Easter, the most joyous of Christian holidays is March 27, and area churches will offer a number of Holy Week activities and Easter services. The following is a list of those activities. The public is invited to all the services. Assembly of God

Abundant Life Assembly of God, 410 N. Main, North Salt Lake, will host a Seder Dinner on Friday, March 25, beginning at 6 p.m. The Seder is the traditional modern-day celebration of Passover, including much symbolism which can provide instruction to the Christian and insight into the Christian Communion. On Saturday, March 26, the church will present a free showing of "The Passion of the Christ," The movie is rated "R." Easter morning worship begins at 10:45 a.m., featuring a contemporary service, followed by an Easter egg hunt, at 12:30 p.m. At the Christian Life Cen-ter, 2352 E. Highway 193, Layton, an Easter drama, "He Forgives and Forgets," will be presented at a 7 p.m. Saturday, March 26, evening service, and at two Easter morning services at 9 and 11 a.m. Baptist The Jubilee Choir of First Southern Baptist Church, 696 N. 400 East, Bountiful, will perform "Rise Again," an Easter musical, on Good Friday, March 25, at 7 p.m. and again on Easter morning at 11 a.m. Those attending will be taken to the foot of that cross through the musical arrangements, the narration and the experience of worship as the body of Christ (the church). Refreshments will be served after the Friday evening performance.

At Grace Baptist Church, 390 N. 400 East, Bountiful, the March 20 Palm Sunday service will be at 11 a.m., followed by a Children's Easter Program. A Good Friday service will be March 25 at 7:30 p.m. On Easter, a sunrise service begins the day at 7 a.m., followed by breakfast. The Easter worship service will be at 11 a.m.

Community

Clearfield Community Church, 200 S. 500 East, will hold a 24-hour prayer vigil, beginning Thursday, March 24, at 6 a.m. On Good Friday, March 25, a service will be held at 7 p.m. Easter morning, worship will be at 8:30 and 11 a.m.

Episcopal

At the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, 1131 S. Main,Centerville, a Maundy Thursday Eucharist and foot washing service is scheduled at 7 p.m. on March 24. The Good Friday Liturgy will be said at 7 p.m. on March 25, and on Holy Saturday, March 26, an Easter Vigil and baptism service will be held at 7 p.m. The Easter service will be March 27 at 9:30 a.m.

Lutheran

At Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 1840 S. 75 East, Boun-tiful, the congregation hosts a Seder Supper at 6 p.m. on Maundy Thursday, March 24. Good Friday services will be at 7 p.m, on March 25. On Easter morning, the day begins with breakfast at 9 a.m., followed by worship at 10:30 a.m.

Grace Lutheran Church, 835 N. Main, Bountiful, is hosting Easter morning service at 10 a.m. followed by a brunch at 11:15 a.m.

Presbyterian

The choir at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 796 S. Mountain Road, Fruit Heights, will present its annual cantata on Palm Sunday, March 20, at both the 9 and 11:15 a.m. services. Then, on Maundy Thurs-day, March 25, a Tenebrae service is set for 7 p.m. On Good Friday, March 26, at 7 p.m., a service, "The Last Words of Christ," will be at 7 p.m. On Saturday the Great Easter Vigil begins at 7 p.m. Easter services with communion will be held at 9 and 11:15 a.m.

Roman Catholic

St. Olaf Catholic Church, 1800 S. Orchard Drive, Boun-tiful will celebrate Palm Sun-day, March 20, with Masses at 8:30 and 11:15 a.m. Worship-pers are asked to gather in McNamara Center for the procession. On Holy Thursday, March 24, a Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. On Good Friday, March 25, the Stations of the Cross will be observed at 7 p.m. Then on Holy Saturday, March 26, a Vigil Mass will be at 7:30 p.m. followed by a reception in McNamara Cen-ter. On Easter Sunday, Masses will be celebrated at 8:30 and 11:15 a.m.

At St. Rose of Lima Cath-olic Church, 210 S. Chapel Street, the Mass of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated in English and Spanish on Holy Thursday, March 24, at 7 p.m. On Good Friday, March 25, members may follow the Stations of the Cross at noon, with a Divine Liturgy Mass celebrated at 7 p.m. On Holy Saturday, March 26, the Easter Vigil and Mass will be at 7:30 p.m., and on Easter, masses will be celebrated at 8:15 and 10:15 a.m. in English, and at 12:15 p.m. in Spanish.

United Church of Christ

Bountiful Community Church, 100 N. 400 East, will host a Good Friday Easter Vigil, on March 25, beginning at 3 p.m. The vigil will continue Saturday. An Easter sunrise service with communion will be held at 7 a.m.
