CLEARFIELD-- The pair suspected of pulling a knife on a Macey's Food and Drug employee here are in police custody in Beaver County. The two were arrested after a high speed chase, which led officers through Beaver, Iron and Garfield counties. According to the Beaver County Sheriff's Department, an officer spotted the Jeep the two left Macey's in, following a report they left a gas station in Beaver County without paying. The officer pursued the two in a chase lasting about 30 minutes, before pulling them over just outside of Panguitch. Garfield County officers assisted in the arrest. The two, identified as Amanda Montoya, 24, of Syracuse and Tracy J. Nielsen, 44, of Roy, allegedly pulled a knife on a pregnant Macey's employee on July 31, who confronted them about a $5 flashlight and some cosmetics she believed they had shoplifted.

The two face possible charges in Davis County and in Weber County, because the Jeep they were driving had been stolen out of Ogden.

Montoya and Nielson are each charged in Beaver County with second-degree felony possession of a firearm by a restricted person, third-degree felony possession of a sawed-off shotgun, third-degree felony fleeing and a class B misdemeanor theft.
