An elect lady, Ethel Bytheway Wilson Hepworth, 96, passed away Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, to reunite with her eternal sweetheart she has missed for nearly 20 years.
Born March 24, 1911, in Salt Lake City, to Matthew Hislop Wilson and Rebecca Bytheway, she was the ninth of 10 children, and the last to depart this earth. Married J.L. "Bud" Hepworth, June 6, 1931, in Salt Lake City; the marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 29, 1938.
Ethel was an active member of the LDS Church serving in the Primary, Sunday School, and Relief Society. An exceptional quilter, she designed her own patterns and created many exquisite 'works of art'. She served many years as the Relief Society 'work day coordinator' for quilts; a position she loved and magnified. Ethel also loved to crochet and cook--her marshmallow fudge and carrot pudding w/vanilla sauce were holiday traditions and every week she baked a cake to share with family/visitors. A sweet lady who loved her sweets!
Employed by the Sweet Candy Company and later at ZCMI, she worked as the unit manager for the entire first floor, coordinating the ordering/inventory of all cosmetics. She retired after 25 years with ZCMI.
Survived by a son and a daughter: Neil L. and (LeAnne) Hepworth, West Bountiful; Mrs. Don (Joan) Sellers, Bountiful; 9 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 29 great-great grandchildren, and one great-great-great grandson. Her family was of paramount importance; she loved and was so proud of each and every one!
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at the West Bountiful LDS Chapel, 840 North 800 West, where friends and family may call from 11:30-12:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery under the direction of Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary.
