FARMINGTON -- Davis County Sheriff Bud Cox and the Utah Sheriff's Association have opened the annual scholarship program for those pursuing a career in law enforcement. Annually the association awards several $1,000 scholarships throughout the state. The executive board of the association reviews all applications and selects the final recipients.

Applications can be obtained from the Davis County Sheriff's Office in person, or by calling Jan Pollard at 451-4120.

All applications must be filled out and returned to the Sheriff's Office by March 31, 2005.

The scholarship program was established to assist peace officers, their families, or students pursuing a law enforcement career. Applicants must fill out an application, articulating their objectives in the criminal justice field, and be a resident of Davis County.
