Well, the usual suspects showed up again. This time, a few weeks ago in Pioneer Park in Salt Lake, and have ended up giving the homeless a bad name. Free food, free camping, free entertainment, who wouldn’t show up if they had nothing else to do? They have broken every city ordinance as they apply to city parks. City leaders will take no action as they don’t want to offend and are going overboard to be politically correct in every way. I spent some time, over several days, walking among the tents and asking questions and could find no intelligible answers as to their cause or an solutions to the problems they espouse.
Someone in the media, said that they were just like the Tea Party. No, Occupy is nothing like the Tea Party. The Tea Party thinks that the government is the problem; Occupy thinks government is the solution. While talking to many of them, I thought about the comments of comic Dennis Miller, “seeing a young man and wanting to ask him if he could think of anything that would make him more un-employable.” If these people are the 99 percent, we are not in big trouble, we are done. I expect this same group to show up to the next big protest to save the Naugas. I did mention this to them. Yes, every day, thousands of the small animals are killed for their hides just to cover furniture and other types of upholstery. This would be the perfect national group to stop this outrage.
If you were a casting director, you could not, on your best day, cast such a group, if your real intent was to destroy a cause and put the worst face on it to show the public.
It is time to call mom and dad and see if the basement is available. It is getting cold out here.
