SALT LAKE CITY - The tennis season got underway last week at the Liberty Park Tennis Tournament that included the top eight teams from last season. Skyline ran away with the title, as they smashed Davis in the final five games to none. It is going to be big year for Davis and Viewmont, who finished second and third respectively. The Darts ripped through Brighton and Viewmont, winning 4-1 in each. The Darts should be strong this season, but learned very quickly they have a lot of work to do to play with Skyline. Viewmont was the surprise of the tournament. They were the eighth seed and beat higher seeded Hillcrest 3-2, before losing to Davis. They then bounced back to beat Lone Peak 3-2 to take third.

"Davis and Viewmont will be tight all year," Viewmont coach Paul Baniewicz said.
