WEST BOUNTIFUL -- Last week, the walls of the West Bountiful Dialysis Center became vibrant and full of life, as students from Kearns Junior High presented the facility with a mural created solely by the students with the help of their art teacher.

These junior high students spent many dedicated hours over the past few months drawing and painting pictures for the mural.

"There were 19 students who contributed about 30 hours to the community project," said Stella Willson of the dialysis center. "Valerie Reynolds (the students' art teacher) enthusiastically painted the mural. She often came after school 2-3 times a week to work on the background."

Once the drawings were completed, patients and staff selected which drawings to use.

The West Bountiful Dialysis Center calls the newly placed mural its "wall of fame." Beyond providing cheer and warmth for the facility and its patients, the mural will be entered in a regional contest sponsored by Davita Dialysis Services.

If the West Bountiful Dialysis Center wins the contest, it will receive money that will be used to benefit the facility and its patients.

"The end product is interesting, fun, bright, cheerful and colorful," said Willson. "The students created a wonderful mural for us to enjoy."
