Terese Roberts Decker passed away on December 21, 2011, at the age of 97 in Keizer, Oregon. Born October 23, 1914, to Florence Campbell and Harold Dibble Roberts in Bountiful, Utah, she spent most of her life in Centerville, Utah. She graduated from Davis High School in 1932, and was a member of the LDS church. July 10, 1936, she married Clyde Morris Decker, later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. In 1937, a son, Robert Morris Decker was born and in 1939, Dee Roberts Decker was born. The following January, Dee died of pneumonia.
In 1944, Clyde, a member of the Naval Air Force, was killed while instructing a student pilot. Terese was left to raise their surviving son alone. She worked at the Arsenal and the Naval Supply Depot during the war and then the Veteran’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.
On March 3, 1957, Terese married Samuel Burdette Bradbury and moved to California. They were divorced in 1974, after moving back to Centerville. She returned to work at the Veteran’s hospital until she retired. In 1990, she moved to Salem, Oregon, to be near her son and his family. She lived the rest of her life in Salem, enjoying time with her posterity. Her life was one of unselfish service for all who knew her.
She is survived by her son: Robert M. Decker (Kathryn), four grandchildren: Todd R. Decker (Jeanette), Tamra D. Christensen (Rex), Anthony M. Decker (Pam), and Bryan J. Decker (Ricki), 17 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Also two brothers: Raymond D. Roberts and Richard C. Roberts (Colleen). Preceded in death by her husband, infant son, parents, one sister and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main. Friends may call at the mortuary from 11:30-12:30 prior to the services. Interment - Centerville City Cemetery. Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com.
