KAYSVILLE – The Davis Chamber has joined with other Chambers in the Top of Utah to form the Northern Utah Chamber Coalition, designed to promote legislative priorities that impact the entire region.

The Northern Utah Chamber Coalition (NUCC) is comprised of the Brigham City Area, Cache, Davis, and Ogden / Weber Chambers of Commerce. NUCC combines efforts to support public policy and government funding issues in Northern Utah that positively affect the business community and the quality of life in our region.

Each Chamber has its own respective legislative policies and processes, but they have agreed that the attached issues are of regional significance and endorsed as Northern Utah priorities.

“Combining our influence on specific issues has been very well received by our Northern Utah legislators,” said Jim Smith, President of the Davis Chamber. “There are many issues that are regional in nature, that have impact that reaches beyond the boundaries of any one county. This Coalition is a way for us to work together on issues that impact the common good of the Top of Utah.”

The Chambers of Commerce provide a profound platform upon which to build this group. Developing priorities with business and community leaders that represent every perspective allows for a stronger public policy strategy for our members. From small business to big business, government to education, the Chambers of Commerce are the voices of the community. Having all four Chambers join forces on specific issues is indeed historical for Northern Utah. We look forward to the 2012 legislative session and continue to seek support from government and civic leaders to accomplish region goals. By combining forces on priorities the Chambers represent over 4,000 business members and are represented by some of Utah’s most influential legislators.
