BEFORE HER SURGERY this week, Shelia Rasa (center, left) was presented with 1,000 origami cranes created by her classmates in a show of love and support.
It’s the way she’s always happy, even though things are more difficult for her than for her fellow sixth graders.
“She’s a great role model,” said classmate Sarah Gilsoul. “I’ve never seen her frown in all the time I’ve seen her. It’s kind of amazing to think of all she’s been through and all she goes through every day.”
