LAYTON — It’s her smile that everyone mentions.

It’s the way she’s always happy, even though things are more difficult for her than for her fellow sixth graders.

“She’s a great role model,” said classmate Sarah Gilsoul. “I’ve never seen her frown in all the time I’ve seen her. It’s kind of amazing to think of all she’s been through and all she goes through every day.”
