And the state Division of Emergency Management is urging everyone to, “Be Ready Utah,” with “The Great Utah ShakeOut,” set for April 17.
In Davis County, employees in several cities, county and state organizations, school children and staff at many area schools, businesses and individuals will be among those who “drop, cover and hold on,” at 10:15 a.m., to get a sense of what they should do in the event of an actual earthquake.
Bountiful City Police plan on completely evacuating their building at 805 S. Main, including the dispatch center, which dispatches for most cities in south Davis County. Dispatchers will be moved to the department’s mobile command center, simulating what will likely happen in the event of a major earthquake.
In Centerville, fire alarms and car alarms will go off at 10:15 a.m., and all city employees will drop, cover and hold on.
