70th: Green

April 13th marked the 70th wedding anniversary of King and Louise Green. They built their first house on 10th East and 5th North in Bountiful in 1946. They were dirt roads back then. The east side of Bountiful only went to 1300 East. Bountiful’s East side was almost entirely orchards and farms — the best cantaloupes on earth. Remember Cantaloupe Days?

It was a perfect location to raise four boys — plenty of animals, making huts in the oakbrush, dams in the creek, saddle the horses and you could play cowboys and Indians better than the radio programs.

The family had a great get- together and dinner with many of the four boys, 13 grandkids, 22 great-grandkids, five great-great-grandkids and many wonderful wives and husbands.

From all the family happy anniversary. We love you and thank you so much for all you have done for us and hanging in there.

It’s quite an experience to be a great-grandparent and still have your mother and father for comfort.
