BOUNTIFUL — Last Wednesday’s Davis Clipper All-Star Hockey game is considered one of the biggest events of the year by both the local players, fans and parents alike.

The game, which this year pitted Davis and DCI players against Viewmont and Northridge players, ended in a 9-8 high-scoring shootout that gave Davis/DCI the win. The Davis/DCI team trailed 6-5 heading into the final period of play before scoring four goals in the third period to steal the game away from Viewmont/Northridge.

Andrew Bergquist, who normally plays for Judge Memorial but was invited to play for the Davis/DCI team, scored the final two goals in the third period to give the Darts/Eagles the win. Bergquist, a resident in the Bountiful area, was named Co-MVP by scoring three goals with two assists in the game. Other goal-scorers for the Darts/Eagles included Draven Salmon, Ryan Hoeke (twice), Dylan Duehlmeier (twice) and Andrew Whitney.

At the net for the Davis/DCI team was Braeden Flint, who went the entire game and stopped 36 of 44 shots at the net to pick up the win.
