WOODS CROSS — Tennis has always been considered one of the “gentlemen’s games,” even when it comes to playing a rival.

So on Tuesday when the Bountiful Braves and Woods Cross Wildcats faced off at Woods Cross High School, the gentlemen of the rivalry turned tennis match into one of the best matches seen all year as the Braves squeezed out a 3-2 victory over Woods Cross.

“Tennis continues to be the gentlemen’s sport which is the most gratifying aspect of coaching the boys’ tennis team,” said Bountiful coach Dennis James. “Every young man on the team is of the highest of character and integrity.”

Most of the matches Tuesday afternoon were within two to three games of each other, with Woods Cross taking a win at first and second singles for their two points.
