BOUNTIFUL — Dan Liljenquist reportedly asked for a chance to debate senior Utah Senator Orrin Hatch eight times.

As of press time, his opponent has agreed to one debate prior to the June 26 primary. It will be conducted by KSL Radio on that station’s Doug Wright show, with date and time yet to be determined.

Liljenquist’s campaign cited a 1976 newspaper article saying then-first time senatorial candidate Hatch was requesting eight debates against his primary challenger, Jack Carlson.
